Seoul, South Korea — AI technology company Viking Lab (CEO Kim Dong-gyu) and broadcast media technology company JTBC Mediatech (CEO Lee Seok-ho) have entered into a strategic partnership to commercialize a next-generation AI-powered Media Asset Management (MAM) system.
The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on August 7 to jointly develop and commercialize an advanced AI-based MAM platform, marking a significant step toward accelerating AI-driven innovation in the media industry.
At the core of the partnership is the integration of Viking Lab's proprietary AI remastering technology with JTBC Mediatech's expertise in broadcast production and transmission systems. By combining their strengths, the companies aim to develop an intelligent MAM platform that overcomes the limitations of conventional media asset management solutions.
The jointly developed AI-powered MAM system will incorporate advanced AI capabilities, including automatic video and audio content analysis, high-resolution AI remastering, and automated metadata generation. These features are expected to significantly improve the operational efficiency, scalability, and accessibility of media asset management workflows.
Beyond technology development, the two companies plan to establish a joint business model targeting not only South Korea's broadcasting and OTT markets but also international media organizations seeking next-generation AI solutions for content management.
The partnership will also focus on the continuous advancement of AI technologies and the delivery of broadcast-specific maintenance and support services, enabling customers to maximize the long-term value of their media assets while streamlining content operations.
